Summary:
Oregon's three major colleges went one win and two losses this past weekend of college football. The Ducks defeated Arizona State 41 to 27 without the services of running back La Michael James who is out with an elbow dislocation. Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas suffered a knee injury early in the third quarter and was replaced by redshirt freshman Bryan Bennett who kept the offense moving behind the strong running of Kenjon Barner.

Oregon State lost 38 to 28 to BYU in Corvallis despite Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion throwing for 306 yards and Riley Nelson's 51-yard pick 6 in the first quarter.

Portland State lost 30 to 24 to Montana in Missoula after a strong second half by Montana. The Vikings have lost seven times in a row to Montana and last beat Montana in Missoula in 1987.

Week 6 of the NFL saw former Oregon State defensive lineman Stephen Paea get his first NFL action for the Bears when he got a sack against the Vikings in a 39 to 10 win. Former Douglas high school (Winston, Oregon) and All-Pro defensive back Troy Polamalu had to leave in the fourth quarter of a 17 to 13 victory over the Jaguars due to a concussion. Former Oregon State running back Steven Jackson rushed for 96 yards on 18 carrier for the Rams in loss to the Packers.
